Explore the charming Marajó Island, the main and largest of the islands in the Marajó Archipelago in the state of Pará. Marajó is the largest set of fluvial-maritime islands on the planet, bathed by the Atlantic Ocean and the Amazon and Tocantins rivers. It has a vast flock of buffaloes (approx. 600 thousand!) that are easily seen at rural and urban areas. During your trip you will explore Marajó's unique cultural elements such as its handicrafts, dance, animals and small communities. The Journey

Day 1


When you arrive in Belém, you will be transferred to the hotel by a private driver. Check-in and take some free time to enjoy the surroundings, like Mangal das Garças (Herons Mangrove) Natural Park and Estação das Docas (Dock’s Station). The station is a tourist and cultural complex that exposes Belém's gastronomy, culture, fashion, and events. It is within 500m of the waterfront at old Belém port on the Guajará river.read more

Day 2

DAY 2 – BELÉM - Ver-o-Peso / City tour (B)

After breakfast, you will visit one of the most famous tourist spots in Belém, the popular Ver-o-Peso market, where you will find regional products and unique specialties from Pará's cuisine and mysticism! Afterwards, you will learn about the importance of regional architecture, the culture of Belém, and the history of the occupation of the Amazon territory. Day 3

DAY 3 – BELÉM / MARAJÓ - Barra Velha Beach / Ceramic Studio (B)

After breakfast you will leave for Marajó Island (approx. 3 hours by boat). When you arrive on the island you will go to Soure city to check-in at a hotel. Then, you will continue to Barra Velha Beach for lunch (not included), relaxation, and a swim in the island's warm waters. In the afternoon you will visit a Marajoara ceramic studio where you will get to see typical regional crafts and get to know the cultural heritage of the first inhabitants of the island. You will have a workshop with artisan Ronaldo Guedes and learn about all of the processes of preparation and execution of his works. After, you will return to the hotel.read more

Day 4

DAY 4 – MARAJÓ - Marajoaras Communities: Pesqueiro and Céu’s villages (B, L)

After breakfast you will depart to Vila do Pesqueiro, a traditional Marajoara community, where you’ll learn a little bit about the island's residents' lifestyles. There you will learn about the extraction process of the famous “Turu”, a mollusk that lives in the mangrove trunks and is often used in local cuisine. Afterwards, you will depart in regional canoes to the friendly Vila do Céu where you will have lunch in the restaurant managed by the local association. After lunch, enjoy free time at the beach. You will return to hotel in the late afternoon.read more

Day 5

DAY 5 – MARAJÓ – Canoeing / Trail / Buffalo Riding (B)

After breakfast you will visit one of the typical marajoaras farms on the island. Your tour will start with a short walk through the farm area up to a small igarapé (small river), where you will embark on a regional canoe to Goiabal beach. From there, you will follow a trail on suspended footbridges through the mangrove, one of the main ecosystems on the island. You’ll return to the farm's headquarters by riding a buffalo. After, you will return to the hotel and enjoy free time.read more

Day 6


After breakfast you will board a speedboat to Belém. You should arrival in Belém at 8:00am where you will transfer to the Belém Airport or a hotel, depending on your itinerary.
