Heli-skiing at Tordrillo Mountain Lodge begs the use of superlatives: the best, the most, unsurpassable, unequaled. With panoramic views of Denali and volcanic summits, fine dining, relaxing accommodations, and fabulous hospitality, this is the stuff of legends. Imagine endless terrain, inspiring steeps, and colossal vertical feet. Whether you’re an intermediate or expert powder skier or boarder, Tordrillo Mountain Lodge’s highly trained guides will help you take your skiing to the next level. Each of our guides has at least 15 years of experience and hundreds of Alaska heli skiing runs cataloged in the Tordrillo Mountains. Our guides start each day assessing field observations, snow pit data, remote weather stations, and input from our pilots to choose the best drop spots for that day’s activities, based on skill level and interest. High-pressure systems common in this region usually mean dry weather and clearer skies than elsewhere in Alaska. That typically means sunshine and good snow stability. Temperatures average 15º to 25º and powder hounds will get their fill with runs that top out at 7,500 feet and end at 2,000 feet. We operate as a true outpost; our flagship lodge is 60 miles west of Anchorage, and only accessible by float or ski plane. This location allows unprecedented access to the 1+ million acres of permitted terrain in our backyard.read more
