Max nelson

Lazaro “Mena” Gonzales He graduated from university with a degree in oceanic engineering, but his real passion is climbing. Since a young kid he has had a thirst for adrenaline and adventure. The first time he climbed about 15 years ago he knew then that it was something he wanted to keep doing. He loves the peace that he gets while climbing, as an exceptional hyperactive person it gives him a level of calm that he rarely finds elsewhere. Like all Cubans he started climbing with beat old, borrowed gear. He has a vivid memory of climbing with a friend many years back sharing 1 harness, 5 quick draws, some shoes with holes in them and a rope for horses. A couple of Americans saw them and were so terrified for their lives that they gave them all of their climbing gear. At the time there was no internet and they were lost forever. He could never thank them for changing his life.read more
