We start the day by sailing along the Jari Channel - a narrow arm of the Amazon River - and continue to the Arapuins River, where we learn about the Urucureá community's cooperative handicraft project, which uses tucumã straw (a typical fruit of the region) as material for the use on various types of crafts. In addition to discovering how colours are produced, straws are prepared etc we participate in a basket-making workshop, sitting in the shade of a rubber tree and listening to many local tales and stories. We start the day with a forest trail (approx. 4h - easy), followed by a local driver who will introduce us to species of trees, plants, enchantments and secrets of the Amazon rainforest. In the afternoon, we visit the Atodi Community where, in addition to talking with the female leaders, we will be able to experience some of the activities performed by the community, such as the management and extraction of cassava products and the cultivation of stingless Brazilian bees for honey production. Free afternoon to rest on the beach. In the evening we will have a special dinner: Piracaia - traditional fish, roasted in the fire, on the beach in a very special setting.
