"The majority of South Africa’s overseas visitors flock to the vineyards of the Western Cape, the seaside towns of the Garden Route, or the tropical beaches of Durban. However, for those looking to get off the beaten track, there is another option - the spectacular coastal wilderness of the Eastern Cape’s Transkei region... The Transkei is home to some of South Africa’s most spectacular scenery, including dramatic cliffs, serene rivers and uninterrupted stretches of golden sand." Few places can compare to the untouched, simple beauty of the Transkei -- we will travel along the magical coastline of the Indian Ocean, walking (barefoot, if you so choose) for days from village to village along the soft beaches and mountain goat paths. This is not a 5 star trip. This is a star lit journey, where the sky lights up the nights. And the people the days. We will stay in simple abodes nestled in rural villages, where you help uplift a rural community whose activities and economy revolve around subsistence farming and hosting guests. Do good, feel better. We travel light. Sending our light luggage to meet us at our destinations. This is a truly unique encounter with rural Africa that will leave you humbled and filled with joy. Connect with a slower way of life. A way of life that is intimately connected with the land and without any frills or distractions. Connect back with yourself.
